{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-11-42b-106","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 11-42b-106","heading":"Public hearing.","body":"(1) On the date and at the time and place specified in the notice under Section 11-42b-104, the legislative body shall hold a public hearing.\n(2)\n(a) The legislative body:\n(i) subject to Subsection (2)(a)(ii), may continue the public hearing from time to time to a fixed future date and time; and\n(ii) may not hold a public hearing that is a continuance less than five days before the deadline for filing protests described in Section 11-42b-105.\n(b) The continuance of a public hearing does not restart or extend the protest period described in Subsection 11-42b-105.\n(3) At the public hearing, the legislative body shall hear all:\n(a) objections to the designation of the proposed assessment area or the beneficial activities proposed to be implemented within the assessment area;\n(b) objections to whether the assessment will meet the requirements of Section 11-42b-102; and\n(c) persons desiring to be heard.","path":["Title 11 Cities, Counties, and Local Taxing Units","Chapter 11-42b Convention and Tourism Business Assessment Area Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title11/Chapter42b/11-42b-S106.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"a5a2c817d5807678b44b765ad319040e232387d872e1ce0dbb0925f0d80becde","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-11-42b-105","next":"us-ut/utah-code-11-42b-107"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
