{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-11-46-402","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 11-46-402","heading":"Animal shelter euthanasia training -- Documentation.","body":"(1) If an animal shelter performs euthanasia on animals, the animal shelter shall:\n(a) adopt a policy for euthanasia that mandates procedures that comply with the applicable provisions of this part;\n(b) adopt a euthanasia training program; and\n(c) require each person who conducts or assists with euthanasia on behalf of the animal shelter to attend a euthanasia training program at least once every two years.\n(2) An animal shelter described in Subsection (1) shall:\n(a) ensure that the euthanasia training program is taught by a veterinarian who is licensed in accordance with Title 58, Chapter 28, Veterinary Practice Act; and\n(b) maintain a record of training dates and who attended.","path":["Title 11 Cities, Counties, and Local Taxing Units","Chapter 11-46 Animal Welfare Act","Part 11-46-4 Euthanasia of Shelter Animals"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title11/Chapter46/11-46-S402.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"43cfbb3ac6c598ef3acf15a8966c8a8a68758a98569fd2c5b34e5daf9d7a0427","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-11-46-401","next":"us-ut/utah-code-11-46-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
