{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-11-50-202","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 11-50-202","heading":"Designating chief administrative officer -- Designating chief financial officer.","body":"(1)\n(a) The chief administrative officer of a political subdivision is:\n(i) the individual appointed as the chief administrative officer of the political subdivision in accordance with statute; or\n(ii) if a chief administrative officer is not appointed in accordance with statute, the individual designated as the chief administrative officer by the governing body of the political subdivision.\n(b) In designating a chief administrative officer under this Subsection (1), the governing body shall designate the individual who holds a managerial or similar position to perform administrative duties or functions for the political subdivision.\n(2)\n(a) The chief financial officer of a political subdivision is:\n(i) the individual appointed as the chief financial officer of the political subdivision in accordance with statute; or\n(ii) if a chief financial officer is not appointed in accordance with statute, the individual designated as the chief financial officer by the governing body of the political subdivision.\n(b) In designating a chief financial officer under this Subsection (2), the governing body shall designate the individual who has primary responsibility for preparing the annual financial report.","path":["Title 11 Cities, Counties, and Local Taxing Units","Chapter 11-50 Political Subdivision Financial Reporting Certification","Part 11-50-2 Certification Required"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title11/Chapter50/11-50-S202.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"6b4d60bcf2588cbcde156b79040d651fc65bd3385585e1cdc25054cc28fcced2","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-11-50-201","next":"us-ut/utah-code-11-51-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
