{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-11-59-303","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 11-59-303","heading":"Term of board members -- Quorum requirements -- Compensation.","body":"(1)\n(a) The term of each board member appointed under Subsection 11-59-302(2) is four years, except that the initial term of one of the members appointed under Subsection 11-59-302(2)(a) is two years and the member appointed under Subsection 11-59-302(2)(c) is two years.\n(b) At the time of making the appointments described in Subsection 11-59-302(2)(a), the governor shall designate the board member whose initial term is two years.\n(2) Each board member shall serve until a successor is duly appointed and qualified.\n(3) A majority of voting board members constitutes a quorum, and the action of a majority of a quorum constitutes the action of the board.\n(4)\n(a) A board member who is not a legislator may not receive compensation or benefits for the member's service on the board, but may receive per diem and expense reimbursement for travel expenses incurred as a board member as allowed in:\n(i) Sections 63A-3-106 and 63A-3-107; and\n(ii) rules made by the Division of Finance according to Sections 63A-3-106 and 63A-3-107.\n(b) Compensation and expenses of a board member who is a legislator are governed by Section 36-2-2 and Legislative Joint Rules, Title 5, Chapter 3, Legislator Compensation.","path":["Title 11 Cities, Counties, and Local Taxing Units","Chapter 11-59 Point of the Mountain State Land Authority Act","Part 11-59-3 Authority Board"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title11/Chapter59/11-59-S303.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"8f0bec19c04e2aac11594bb762d317de50e9079e824618d63fdab2ec03d62e6e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-11-59-302","next":"us-ut/utah-code-11-59-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
