{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-11-65-303","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 11-65-303","heading":"Term of board members -- Quorum -- Compensation.","body":"(1) The term of a board member appointed under Subsection 11-65-302(2) is four years, except that the initial term is two years for:\n(a) one of the two members appointed under Subsection 11-65-302(2)(a), as designated by the governor;\n(b) four of the eight members appointed under Subsection 11-65-302(2)(e), as designated by the Utah County Council of Governments; and\n(c) the members appointed under Subsections 11-65-302(2)(f) and (g).\n(2) Each board member shall serve until a successor is duly appointed and qualified.\n(3) A board member may serve multiple terms if duly appointed to serve each term under Subsection 11-65-302(2).\n(4) A majority of board members constitutes a quorum, and the action of a majority of a quorum constitutes action of the board.\n(5)\n(a) A board member who is not a legislator may not receive compensation or benefits for the member's service on the board, but may receive per diem and reimbursement for travel expenses incurred as a board member as allowed in:\n(i) Sections 63A-3-106 and 63A-3-107; and\n(ii) rules made by the Division of Finance according to Sections 63A-3-106 and 63A-3-107.\n(b) Compensation and expenses of a board member who is a legislator are governed by Section 36-2-2 and Legislative Joint Rules, Title 5, Chapter 3, Legislator Compensation.","path":["Title 11 Cities, Counties, and Local Taxing Units","Chapter 11-65 Utah Lake Authority Act","Part 11-65-3 Lake Authority Board"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title11/Chapter65/11-65-S303.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"d1aa59e0ab77c338a6682441e493cbb7d224c24687a05e1eba21a1972958e7c5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-11-65-302","next":"us-ut/utah-code-11-65-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
