{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-13-1-19","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 13-1-19","heading":"Property management report required.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Department\" means the Department of Commerce.\n(b) \"Property management\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 61-2f-102.\n(2) Before August 31, 2026, the department shall make a recommendation to the Business and Labor Interim Committee regarding the jurisdiction of the Division of Consumer Protection and the Division of Real Estate over a person engaged in property management that:\n(a) identifies areas in which the jurisdiction of the Division of Consumer Protection and the Division of Real Estate overlap in relation to a person engaged in property management;\n(b) makes recommendations on whether to realign the jurisdiction of the Division of Consumer Protection or the Division of Real Estate to avoid duplicative jurisdiction over a person engaged in property management; and\n(c) identifies statutory changes to accomplish the recommendations described in Subsection (2)(b).\n(3) In developing the recommendation described in Subsection (2), the department shall consult with:\n(a) the Real Estate Commission;\n(b) the Division of Consumer Protection;\n(c) the Division of Real Estate;\n(d) one or more person engaged in property management; and\n(e) any other person the department determines has subject matter expertise to help develop the recommendation.","path":["Title 13 Commerce and Trade","Chapter 13-1 Department of Commerce"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title13/Chapter1/13-1-S19.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"177f64a97306d2cc6ae1a09b1e1489faa89590fb17d8a7d57ac9aced3df29a6e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-13-1-18","next":"us-ut/utah-code-13-1a-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
