{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-13-22-116","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 13-22-116","heading":"Fundraising campaign recordkeeping requirements.","body":"(1) As used in this section, \"fundraising campaign\" means a charitable solicitation activity that a professional fundraiser engages in on behalf of a charitable organization where the professional fundraiser receives a portion of the funds raised or other compensation in exchange for services.\n(2) A professional fundraiser shall keep records of the following information:\n(a) actual expenses and revenue for the fundraising campaign;\n(b) bank account information for the bank account where the professional fundraiser holds contributions collected in connection with the fundraising campaign;\n(c) the charitable solicitation scripts that will be used for the fundraising campaign;\n(d) an affirmation from the professional fundraiser that the charity approves the charitable solicitation materials to be used in the fund raising campaign;\n(e) the name and contact information for each individual overseeing the fund raising campaign;\n(f) contributions the professional fundraiser collects during the fundraising campaign;\n(g) contributions paid to the charitable organization as a result of the fundraising campaign; and\n(h) expenses the charitable organization pays to the professional fundraiser for the fundraising campaign.\n(3) A professional fundraiser shall keep the records described in Subsection (2) for five years after the day on which the fundraising campaign ends.","path":["Title 13 Commerce and Trade","Chapter 13-22 Charitable Solicitations Act","Part 13-22-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title13/Chapter22/13-22-S116.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"8877cd366ce08f62b627be5d280aaa520fbe9d70e6bd3728e2715afdbfcb4764","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-13-22-115","next":"us-ut/utah-code-13-23-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
