{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-13-45-205","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 13-45-205","heading":"Changes to information in a credit report subject to a security freeze.","body":"(1) If a credit report is subject to a security freeze, a consumer reporting agency shall notify the consumer who is the subject of the credit report within 30 days if the consumer reporting agency changes the consumer's:\n(a) name;\n(b) date of birth;\n(c) Social Security number; or\n(d) address.\n(2)\n(a) Notwithstanding Subsection (1), a consumer reporting agency may make technical modifications to information in a credit report that is subject to a security freeze without providing notification to the consumer.\n(b) Technical modifications under Subsection (2)(a) include:\n(i) the addition or subtraction of abbreviations to names and addresses; and\n(ii) transpositions or corrections of incorrect numbering or spelling.\n(3) When providing notice of a change of address under Subsection (1), the consumer reporting agency shall provide notice to the consumer at both the new address and the former address.","path":["Title 13 Commerce and Trade","Chapter 13-45 Consumer Credit Protection Act","Part 13-45-2 Security Freeze"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title13/Chapter45/13-45-S205.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"0341325819df2fec5781d564211e53eaf87d0d1c3669ebd10b06adcb3d30997d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-13-45-204","next":"us-ut/utah-code-13-45-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
