{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-13-48a-304","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 13-48a-304","heading":"Insurable interest -- Insurance to cover various liabilities -- No liability to maintain certain insurance.","body":"(1) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a car-sharing program has an insurable interest in a shared vehicle during the car-sharing period.\n(2) A car-sharing program may own and maintain as the named insured one or more policies of motor vehicle insurance that provide coverage for:\n(a) a liability assumed by the car-sharing program under a car-sharing agreement;\n(b) a liability of the shared vehicle owner;\n(c) a liability of the shared vehicle driver; or\n(d) damage or loss to a shared vehicle.\n(3) Nothing in this section requires a car-sharing program to maintain insurance coverage for the car-sharing program's liability under this chapter.","path":["Title 13 Commerce and Trade","Chapter 13-48a Car-Sharing Programs","Part 13-48a-3 Liability and Insurance for Covered Loss from Operation of Shared Vehicle"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title13/Chapter48a/13-48a-S304.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"d9d752f3eb4086100bf42f679baaaa2634532ca260e5187bd3bd05567e19cf2d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-13-48a-303","next":"us-ut/utah-code-13-48a-305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
