{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-13-50-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 13-50-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Rebate\" means:\n(a) any allowance or discount against charged fees; or\n(b) payment of any form of compensation, except for an item of nominal value, to:\n(i) an insured; or\n(ii) a person directly or indirectly associated with a residential building.\n(2) \"Repair work\" means any work done to siding, gutters, a roof system, or a window system to repair damage caused by wind or hail.\n(3) \"Residential building\" means a single or multiple family dwelling of up to four units.\n(4) \"Residential contractor\" means a person that, for compensation, other than wages as an employee, contracts or offers to contract to:\n(a) perform repair work on a residential building;\n(b) arrange for, manage, or process repair work on a residential building; or\n(c) serve as a representative, agent, or assignee of the owner or possessor of a residential building for purposes of repair work on the residential building.\n(5) \"Roof system\" includes roof coverings, roof sheathing, roof weatherproofing, roof framing, roof ventilation, and roof insulation.","path":["Title 13 Commerce and Trade","Chapter 13-50 Residential Construction Contracts Act","Part 13-50-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title13/Chapter50/13-50-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"08985b44049465c2cc715d96682e15d4835daa4f3d227f54ef7995c2482a93d5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-13-50-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-13-50-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
