{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-13-52-103","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 13-52-103","heading":"Applicability of chapter.","body":"This chapter:\n(1) applies to each solar agreement entered into on or after September 3, 2018, including a solar agreement that accompanies the transfer of ownership or lease of real property; and\n(2) does not apply to:\n(a) the transfer of title or rental of real property on which a residential solar energy system is or is expected to be located, if the presence of the residential solar energy system is incidental to the transfer of title or rental;\n(b) a lender, governmental entity, or other third party that enters into an agreement with a customer to finance a residential solar energy system but is not a party to a system purchase agreement, power purchase agreement, or lease agreement;\n(c) a sale or lease of, or the purchase of electricity from, a solar energy system that is not a residential solar energy system; or\n(d) the lease of a residential solar energy system or the purchase of power from a residential solar energy system under an agreement providing for payments over a term of less than five years.","path":["Title 13 Commerce and Trade","Chapter 13-52 Residential Solar Energy Consumer Protection Act","Part 13-52-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title13/Chapter52/13-52-S103.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"2d5242906e20c4766b4bac568105f6017435eeef139dd4afac0810976366bdbb","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-13-52-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-13-52-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
