{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-13-56-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 13-56-201","heading":"Limitations on ticket resale restrictions -- Disclosures.","body":"(1) Except as provided in Subsection (2), each ticket issued for an event shall be a transferrable ticket.\n(2)\n(a)\n(i) Up to 10% of the total number of tickets issued for an event may be restricted tickets.\n(ii) The total number of tickets described in Subsection (2)(a)(i):\n(A) includes each ticket that provides access to the event, regardless of whether the ticket is made available for sale; and\n(B) does not include a ticket that is part of a youth basketball program associated with a professional sports team where tickets are donated or issued at a reduced rate.\n(b) Notwithstanding Subsection (2)(a), each calendar year, an unlimited number of restricted tickets may be issued for up to 10% of the total concert and theater events held at the same venue during the calendar year.\n(3) A person who issues a restricted ticket shall provide the purchaser a clear and conspicuous written notice that states the ticket may not be resold or transferred.\n(4) A person may not discriminate against an individual or deny an individual admission to an event solely because the individual:\n(a) resold a ticket to the event independent of the person who issued the ticket or the person's agent or operator; or\n(b) purchased a resold ticket to the event independent of the person who issued the ticket or the person's agent or operator.","path":["Title 13 Commerce and Trade","Chapter 13-56 Ticket Transferability Act","Part 13-56-2 Ticket Resale Restrictions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title13/Chapter56/13-56-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"9c0854b2d6ed098df1c14155cc6daa3ce26c554076dc007d2f3e390f6231fcf8","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-13-56-103","next":"us-ut/utah-code-13-56-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
