{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-13-61-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 13-61-201","heading":"Consumer rights -- Access -- Deletion -- Portability -- Opt out of certain processing.","body":"(1) A consumer has the right to:\n(a) confirm whether a controller is processing the consumer's personal data; and\n(b) access the consumer's personal data.\n(2) A consumer has the right to delete the consumer's personal data that the consumer provided to the controller.\n(3) A consumer has the right to obtain a copy of the consumer's personal data, that the consumer previously provided to the controller, in a format that:\n(a) to the extent technically feasible, is portable;\n(b) to the extent practicable, is readily usable; and\n(c) allows the consumer to transmit the data to another controller without impediment, where the processing is carried out by automated means.\n(4) A consumer has the right to request that a controller correct inaccuracies in the consumer's personal data, taking into account the nature of the personal data and the purposes of the processing of the consumer's personal data.\n(5) A consumer has the right to opt out of the processing of the consumer's personal data for purposes of:\n(a) targeted advertising; or\n(b) the sale of personal data.\n(6) Nothing in this section requires a person to cause a breach of security system as defined in Section 13-44-102.","path":["Title 13 Commerce and Trade","Chapter 13-61 Utah Consumer Privacy Act","Part 13-61-2 Rights Relating to Personal Data"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title13/Chapter61/13-61-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"a8d1813c50aca2e897f62469595f647ecf93ddd2dc0fec61c47206a3be9953e5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-13-61-103","next":"us-ut/utah-code-13-61-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
