{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-13-82-101","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 13-82-101","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this section:\n(1) \"Chemical\" means:\n(a) lead;\n(b) cadmium;\n(c) arsenic;\n(d) dioxin (2,3,7,8-tetrachlordibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD)); or\n(e) PFAS.\n(2)\n(a) \"Confidential business information\" means an ingredient intentionally added, or a combination of ingredients intentionally added, for which:\n(i) the Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency has approved a claim for inclusion on the confidential portion of the Toxic Substances Control Act Chemical Substance Inventory in accordance with 15 U.S.C. Sec. 2607(b); or\n(ii) the manufacturer claims is a trade secret, as that term is defined in Section 13-24-2, in accordance with Title 13, Chapter24, Uniform Trade Secrets Act.\n(b) \"Confidential business information\" does not include a chemical.\n(3) \"Division\" means the Division of Consumer Protection established in Section 13-2-1.\n(4) \"Ingredient intentionally added\" means a chemical, substance, or combination of substances in a menstrual product that serves a technical or functional purpose in the finished menstrual product.\n(5) \"Manufacturer\" means a manufacturer of a menstrual product sold, offered for sale, or distributed in the state.\n(6) \"Menstrual product\" means, whether disposable or reusable:\n(a) a tampon;\n(b) a sanitary napkin;\n(c) a menstrual cup; or\n(d) another similar product designed for hygiene in connection with the human menstrual cycle.\n(7) \"Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances\" or \"PFAS\" means a substance that is a member of the class of fluorinated organic chemicals containing at least one fully fluorinated carbon atom.","path":["Title 13 Commerce and Trade","Chapter 13-82 Feminine Hygiene Products","Part 13-82-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title13/Chapter82/13-82-S101.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"0c908995ae50dc87137ca9da2cbaafe79831b87de776be88dad467319b42dad8","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-13-81-401","next":"us-ut/utah-code-13-82-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
