{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-15a-5-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 15A-5-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Appreciable depth\" means a depth greater than 1/4 inch.\n(2) \"AHJ\" means \"authority having jurisdiction,\" which is:\n(a) the State Fire Marshal;\n(b) an authorized deputy of the State Fire Marshal; or\n(c) the local fire enforcement authority.\n(3) \"Division\" means the State Fire Marshal Division created in Section 53-7-103.\n(4)\n(a) \"Dwelling Unit\" means one or more rooms arranged for the use of one or more individuals living together, as in a single housekeeping unit normally having cooking, living, sanitary, and sleeping facilities.\n(b) \"Dwelling unit\" includes a hotel room, dormitory room, apartment, condominium, sleeping room in a nursing home, or similar living unit.\n(5) \"Fire jurisdiction\" means a contiguous geographic area for which there is a single authority having jurisdiction.\n(6) \"IFC\" means the edition of the International Fire Code adopted under Section 15A-5-103.\n(7) \"NFPA\" means the edition of the National Fire Protection Association adopted under Section 15A-5-103.\n(8) \"Premixed\" means the state of an antifreeze and water solution that results from the solution being prepared by the manufacturer with a quality control procedure that ensures that the antifreeze and water solution does not separate.\n(9) \"UL\" means Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.","path":["Title 15A State Construction and Fire Codes Act","Chapter 15A-5 State Fire Code Act","Part 15A-5-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title15A/Chapter5/15A-5-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"bf5f9201bc933b8d48eb293d0cc0154ae3634208f4b5a82ba57079959e9a1dab","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-15a-5-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-15a-5-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
