{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-16-16-817","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 16-16-817","heading":"Committees.","body":"(1) Unless the organic rules otherwise provide, a board of directors may create one or more committees and appoint one or more individuals to serve on a committee.\n(2) Unless the organic rules otherwise provide, an individual appointed to serve on a committee of a limited cooperative association need not be a director or member.\n(3) An individual who is not a director and is serving on a committee has the same rights, duties, and obligations as a director serving on the committee.\n(4) Unless the organic rules otherwise provide, each committee of a limited cooperative association may exercise the powers delegated to it by the board of directors, but a committee may not:\n(a) approve allocations or distributions except according to a formula or method prescribed by the board of directors;\n(b) approve or propose to members action requiring approval of members; or\n(c) fill vacancies on the board of directors or any of its committees.","path":["Title 16 Corporations","Chapter 16-16 Uniform Limited Cooperative Association Act","Part 16-16-8 Directors and Officers"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title16/Chapter16/16-16-S817.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"96108a86680224973ad7d499c6399474621ca19b6bf9f888776e65eb84ce3334","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-16-16-816","next":"us-ut/utah-code-16-16-818"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
