{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-16-6a-1409","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 16-6a-1409","heading":"Service on dissolved nonprofit corporation.","body":"(1) A dissolved nonprofit corporation shall:\n(a) maintain a registered agent to accept service of process on its behalf; or\n(b) be considered to have authorized service of process on it by registered or certified mail, return receipt requested, to:\n(i) the address of its principal office, if any:\n(A) as set forth in its articles of dissolution; or\n(B) as last changed by notice delivered to the division for filing; or\n(ii) the address for service of process that:\n(A) is stated in its articles of dissolution; or\n(B) as last changed by notice delivered to the division for filing.\n(2) Service effected pursuant to Subsection (1)(b) is perfected at the earliest of:\n(a) the date the dissolved nonprofit corporation receives the process, notice, or demand;\n(b) the date shown on the return receipt, if signed on behalf of the dissolved nonprofit corporation; or\n(c) five days after mailing.\n(3) Subsection (1) does not prescribe the only means, or necessarily the required means, of serving a dissolved nonprofit corporation.","path":["Title 16 Corporations","Chapter 16-6a Utah Revised Nonprofit Corporation Act","Part 16-6a-14 Dissolution"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title16/Chapter6a/16-6a-S1409.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"22cf35cd1793b495533522d43e239e476099fff3490dfb14e477903c10b6cef6","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-16-6a-1408","next":"us-ut/utah-code-16-6a-1410"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
