{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-16-6a-1418","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 16-6a-1418","heading":"Dissolution upon expiration of period of duration.","body":"(1) A nonprofit corporation shall be dissolved upon and by reason of the expiration of its period of duration, if any, stated in its articles of incorporation.\n(2) For purposes of this section:\n(a) a provision in the articles of incorporation is considered a provision for a period of duration if it is to the effect that the nonprofit corporation or its existence shall be terminated:\n(i) at a specified date;\n(ii) after a stated period of time;\n(iii) upon a contingency; or\n(iv) any event similar to those described in Subsections (2)(a)(i) through (iii); and\n(b) the following shall be considered to be the expiration of the nonprofit corporation's period of duration:\n(i) the occurrence of the specified date;\n(ii) the expiration of the stated period of time;\n(iii) the occurrence of the contingency; or\n(iv) the satisfaction of the provision described in Subsection (2)(a)(iv).","path":["Title 16 Corporations","Chapter 16-6a Utah Revised Nonprofit Corporation Act","Part 16-6a-14 Dissolution"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title16/Chapter6a/16-6a-S1418.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"60f5baf6c5f6abbf6c8c85250d9b4d3384d36503f99b377930425b202a08fd49","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-16-6a-1417","next":"us-ut/utah-code-16-6a-1419"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
