{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-16-6a-611","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 16-6a-611","heading":"Property rights.","body":"(1) A member has no right relating to management, control, purpose, or duration of the nonprofit corporation, except as provided by:\n(a) the articles of incorporation or the bylaws of a mutual benefit corporation; or\n(b) other applicable law.\n(2) Unless otherwise provided by agreement, articles of incorporation, or the bylaws of a water company, and subject to the general liabilities and obligations of the water company, a shareholder in a water company has:\n(a) an equitable, beneficial interest in the use of the water supply of the water company, proportionate to the shareholder's shares in the water company, which is an interest in real property; and\n(b) the right to have the shareholder's proportionate share of the water delivered through a diversion structure, ditch, canal, storage and distribution facility, or other appurtenance of the water company, in accordance with:\n(i) the distribution method of the water company; or\n(ii) an approved change application under Section 73-3-3.5.","path":["Title 16 Corporations","Chapter 16-6a Utah Revised Nonprofit Corporation Act","Part 16-6a-6 Members"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title16/Chapter6a/16-6a-S611.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"f6d68b767cd2a538d7659a145316779dad01f37ee8de66eb3b6f9a03765ea88a","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-16-6a-610","next":"us-ut/utah-code-16-6a-612"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
