{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-17-60-508","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 17-60-508","heading":"Service animals permitted.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Retired service animal\" means a dog that:\n(i) at one time was a service animal for the current owner; and\n(ii) no longer provides service animal services to the owner because of the dog's age or other factors limiting the dog's service capability.\n(b) \"Service animal\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 10-8-65.\n(2) If a county adopts a limit as to the number of dogs a person may keep, the county shall allow a person to keep a service animal, a retired service animal, or both in addition to that limit.","path":["Title 17 Counties","Chapter 17-60 General Provisions Applicable to Counties","Part 17-60-5 Limitations on County Power"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title17/Chapter60/17-60-S508.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"22755e06432c83690507b9d4c49dae41aa477df7d950a7d0b57b064372abbfac","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-17-60-507","next":"us-ut/utah-code-17-60-509"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
