{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-17-66-101","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 17-66-101","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Compensation\" means:\n(a) salary, including salary paid under a contract;\n(b) a budgeted bonus or budgeted incentive pay;\n(c) a vehicle allowance; and\n(d) deferred salary.\n(2) \"Compensation increase\" means an increase in any item of compensation listed in Subsection (1).\n(3) \"County office\" means an office enumerated in Section 17-66-102 that is required to be filled by an election.\n(4) \"County officer\" means an elected official enumerated in Section 17-66-102.\n(5) \"Finance officer\" means:\n(a) the county auditor; or\n(b) if the county council has delegated accounting services under Section 17-69-401, the person selected by the county council to provide accounting services to the county.\n(6) \"Governing body\" means, respectively:\n(a) a county commission;\n(b) a county council and county executive; or\n(c) a county council and county manager.\n(7) \"Legislative body\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 17-64-101.","path":["Title 17 Counties","Chapter 17-66 County Officers and Officials Generally","Part 17-66-1 General Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title17/Chapter66/17-66-S101.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"ed8f1489acf15cc05269113300ebafc2636459c8f839afc70f6b57471fdef9a3","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-17-65-405","next":"us-ut/utah-code-17-66-102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
