{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-17-68-301","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 17-68-301","heading":"County and district attorney duties, powers, and functions -- Legislative functions.","body":"(1) The duties, functions, and responsibilities of a county attorney or district attorney, acting as a public prosecutor or as civil counsel, are as provided in this chapter.\n(2) The attorney:\n(a) may review a state statute;\n(b) shall review each county ordinance;\n(c) shall call to the attention of the state Legislature or the county legislative body any defect in the operation of the law; and\n(d) shall suggest and assist the Legislature or county legislative body in presenting an amendment to correct a defect described in Subsection (2)(c).\n(3) The attorney shall perform each duty and responsibility of public prosecutor and civil counsel as provided by statute or ordinance.","path":["Title 17 Counties","Chapter 17-68 County and District Attorney","Part 17-68-3 Powers, Duties, and Prohibitions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title17/Chapter68/17-68-S301.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"c9b69435bdffc0298d6cb8b37bb29a0494d9ea4c6e416ee28e72e0c0081dcea4","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-17-68-203","next":"us-ut/utah-code-17-68-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
