{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-17-68-402","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 17-68-402","heading":"Multicounty prosecution district.","body":"(1)\n(a) Subject to Subsection (2), two or more counties, whether contiguous, may enter into an agreement in accordance with Title 11, Chapter 13, Interlocal Cooperation Act, to create and maintain a prosecution district.\n(b) A prosecution district described in Subsection (1)(a) shall include all of the area within the boundaries of each county party to the agreement.\n(2) A county may not enter into an agreement to create a multicounty prosecution district unless each county entering into the agreement is located within a single judicial district, as described in Section 78A-1-102, with the other party counties.","path":["Title 17 Counties","Chapter 17-68 County and District Attorney","Part 17-68-4 Prosecution District"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title17/Chapter68/17-68-S402.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"e4d59cd07e2a951bc6eec3ac6029b56e541e9bd4aba026daf594942d88eedfb3","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-17-68-401","next":"us-ut/utah-code-17-68-403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
