{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-17-78-701","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 17-78-701","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1) \"Airport\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 72-10-102.\n(2) \"Airport operator\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 72-10-102.\n(3) \"Establishing and promoting\" means an activity or related expense to encourage, solicit, advertise, or market in order to attract or enhance transient guest spending in a county for a purpose described in Subsection 17-78-702(2)(a).\n(4) \"Mitigation\" means activity to address the direct impacts of tourism, recreation related to tourism, or conventions in a county, specifically sanitation and solid waste disposal, emergency medical services, search and rescue services, law enforcement, road repair, and road upgrades.\n(5) \"Transient room tax\" means a tax at a rate not to exceed the relevant rate authorized by Section 59-12-301.","path":["Title 17 Counties","Chapter 17-78 County Property, Programs, and Entities","Part 17-78-7 Establishing and Promoting Recreation, Tourism, and Conventions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title17/Chapter78/17-78-S701.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"bbd995987c8da979b090622fcf36fb05c49076c84752f225ef9e7c34b21d6aa6","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-17-78-606","next":"us-ut/utah-code-17-78-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
