{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-17-79-407","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 17-79-407","heading":"Effect of official maps.","body":"(1) Counties may adopt an official map.\n(2)\n(a) An official map does not:\n(i) require a landowner to dedicate and construct a street as a condition of development approval, except under circumstances provided in Subsection (2)(b)(iii); or\n(ii) require a county to immediately acquire property it has designated for eventual use as a public street.\n(b) This section does not prohibit a county from:\n(i) recommending that an applicant consider and accommodate the location of the proposed streets in the planning of a development proposal in a manner that is consistent with Section 17-79-812;\n(ii) acquiring the property through purchase, gift, voluntary dedication, or eminent domain; or\n(iii) requiring the dedication and improvement of a street if the street is found necessary by the county because of a proposed development and if the dedication and improvement is consistent with Section 17-79-812.","path":["Title 17 Counties","Chapter 17-79 County Land Use, Development, and Management Act","Part 17-79-4 General Plan"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title17/Chapter79/17-79-S407.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"4967a7f955ca69cfe4452c400700e73845943da77661e86cea86d170e95c410a","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-17-79-406","next":"us-ut/utah-code-17-79-408"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
