{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-17-79-701","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 17-79-701","heading":"Enactment of subdivision ordinance.","body":"(1) The legislative body of a county may enact ordinances requiring that a subdivision plat comply with the provisions of the county's ordinances and this part before:\n(a) the subdivision plat may be filed and recorded in the county recorder's office; and\n(b) lots may be sold.\n(2) If the legislative body fails to enact a subdivision ordinance, the county may regulate subdivisions only as provided in this part.\n(3) The joining of a lot or lots to a parcel does not constitute a subdivision as to the parcel or subject the parcel to the county's subdivision ordinance.\n(4) A legislative body may adopt a land use regulation that specifies that combining lots does not require a subdivision plat amendment.","path":["Title 17 Counties","Chapter 17-79 County Land Use, Development, and Management Act","Part 17-79-7 Subdivisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title17/Chapter79/17-79-S701.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"92575e8fec859fe037a136889c452d526c179978ada142470cfa0d80786b2a14","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-17-79-621","next":"us-ut/utah-code-17-79-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
