{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-17b-1-805","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 17B-1-805","heading":"Human resource management requirement.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Governing body\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 17B-1-201.\n(b) \"Human resource management duties\" means the exercise of human resource management functions and responsibilities, including:\n(i) complying with federal and state employment law;\n(ii) administering compensation and benefits; and\n(iii) ensuring employee safety.\n(c) \"Human resource management training\" means a program designed to instruct an individual on the performance of human resource management duties.\n(2) If a special district has full or part-time employees, the governing body shall:\n(a) adopt human resource management policies;\n(b) assign human resource management duties to one of the district's employees or another person; and\n(c) ensure that the employee or person assigned under Subsection (2)(b) receives human resource management training.","path":["Title 17B Limited Purpose Local Government Entities - Special Districts","Chapter 17B-1 Provisions Applicable to All Special Districts","Part 17B-1-8 Special District Personnel Management"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title17B/Chapter1/17B-1-S805.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"a098a83499103d267f80fa43ad14ec7d79a863028413e813fd367f22852d6c8e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-17b-1-804","next":"us-ut/utah-code-17b-1-901"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
