{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-17b-2a-607","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 17B-2a-607","heading":"Contracts with other corporations.","body":"(1) A metropolitan water district may:\n(a) contract with one or more corporations, public or private, for the purpose of:\n(i) financing acquisitions, constructions, or operations of the district; or\n(ii) carrying out any of the district's powers;\n(b) in a contract under Subsection (1)(a), obligate itself severally or jointly with the other corporation or corporations; and\n(c) secure, guarantee, or become surety for the payment of an indebtedness or the performance of a contract or other obligation incurred or entered into by a corporation whose shares of stock the district has acquired.\n(2) A contract under Subsection (1)(a) may:\n(a) provide for:\n(i) contributions to be made by each contracting party;\n(ii) the division and apportionment of:\n(A) the expenses of acquisitions and operations; and\n(B) the contractual benefits, services, and products; and\n(iii) an agency to make acquisitions and carry on operations under the contract; and\n(b) contain covenants and agreements as necessary or convenient to accomplish the purposes of the contract.","path":["Title 17B Limited Purpose Local Government Entities - Special Districts","Chapter 17B-2a Provisions Applicable to Different Types of Special Districts","Part 17B-2a-6 Metropolitan Water District Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title17B/Chapter2a/17B-2a-S607.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"31af7204d85a25b57ebc09bd93d8a93d06a04d091cc4d5aac87f646d2f863e8b","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-17b-2a-606","next":"us-ut/utah-code-17b-2a-608"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
