{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-19-6-1306","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 19-6-1306","heading":"Solar panel waste disposal site -- Solar panel waste recycling facility -- Operator registration.","body":"(1) Beginning on July 1, 2028, a person may not place, discard, or otherwise dispose of solar panel waste in a landfill operated by a municipality, county, political subdivision of the state, or other entity unless:\n(a) the landfill is registered with the division as a solar panel waste disposal site in accordance with Subsection (2); or\n(b) the person can demonstrate to the landfill operator that the solar panel waste is not hazardous solar panel waste.\n(2)\n(a) An operator of a landfill may submit an application to register with the division as a solar panel waste disposal site.\n(b) An applicant for registration as a solar panel waste disposal site shall:\n(i) submit an application to the division in a form and manner prescribed by the director;\n(ii) provide the name and business address of the applicant;\n(iii) submit a plan to the director for handling and safely treating, storing, or disposing of hazardous solar panel waste; and\n(iv) comply with an application requirement established by board rule.\n(3)\n(a) An applicant may submit an application to register with the division as a solar panel waste recycling facility.\n(b) An applicant for registration as a solar panel waste recycling facility shall:\n(i) submit an application to the division in a form and manner prescribed by the director;\n(ii) provide the name and business address of the applicant;\n(iii) submit a plan to the director for handling and safely treating, storing, or recycling hazardous solar panel waste; and\n(iv) comply with an application requirement established by board rule.","path":["Title 19 Environmental Quality Code","Chapter 19-6 Hazardous Substances","Part 19-6-13 Testing And Disposal Of Solar Panel Waste"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title19/Chapter6/19-6-S1306.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"323b5409d7a1d795eaaf1ea91be4e974caf1c21189a3da57a8dc8cbc55b8450d","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-19-6-1305","next":"us-ut/utah-code-19-6-1307"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
