{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-2-304","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 20A-2-304","heading":"County clerk's responsibilities -- Notice of disposition.","body":"Subject to Section 20A-3a-201.5, a county clerk shall:\n(1) register to vote each individual who meets the requirements for registration and who:\n(a) submits a completed voter registration form to the county clerk;\n(b) submits a completed voter registration form, as defined in Subsection 20A-2-204(1), to the Driver License Division;\n(c) submits a completed voter registration form to a public assistance agency or a discretionary voter registration agency; or\n(d) mails a completed voter registration form to the county clerk;\n(2) within 30 calendar days after the day on which the county clerk processes a voter registration form, send a notice to the individual who submits the form that:\n(a)\n(i) informs the individual that the individual's voter registration form has been accepted and that the individual is registered to vote;\n(ii) informs the individual of the procedure for designating or changing the individual's political affiliation;\n(iii) informs the individual of the procedure to cancel a voter registration;\n(iv) provides instructions to the voter on how the voter may sign up to receive electronic ballot status notifications via the ballot tracking system described in Section 20A-3a-401.5; and\n(v) confirms that the individual has chosen to receive electronic ballot status notifications if the individual opted to receive electronic ballot status notifications on the voter registration form;\n(b) informs the individual that the individual's voter registration form has been rejected and the reason for the rejection; or\n(c)\n(i) informs the individual that the individual's voter registration form is being returned to the individual for further action because the form is incomplete; and\n(ii) gives instructions to the individual on how to properly complete the form; and\n(3) for each voter registration record of an individual who is limited to voting in a federal race only:\n(a) before March 1, 2027, segregate the record in a manner that identifies the voter's voter registration record as belonging to an individual who is limited to voting in a federal race only; or\n(b) beginning on March 1, 2027, indicate the limitation on the voter's voter registration record.","path":["Title 20A Election Code","Chapter 20A-2 Voter Registration","Part 20A-2-3 Voter Registration Responsibilities"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title20A/Chapter2/20A-2-S304.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"431b04c1b0bb80e049d959b38befde2895cb69d473313eb7af6c73eb8fbb4ee5","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-2-302","next":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-2-307"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
