{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-3a-106","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 20A-3a-106","heading":"Rulemaking authority relating to conducting an election.","body":"The director of elections, within the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, may make rules, in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, establishing requirements for:\n(1) a return envelope, to ensure uniformity and security of the envelopes;\n(2) complying with the signature comparison audit requirements described in Section 20A-3a-402.5;\n(3) conducting and documenting the identity verification process described in Subsection 20A-3a-401(7)(b); or\n(4) establishing specific requirements and procedures for an election officer to:\n(a) perform the signature comparison audits described in Subsection 20A-9-408(9)(e); or\n(b) fulfill the chain of custody requirements described in Section 20A-9-408.3.","path":["Title 20A Election Code","Chapter 20A-3a Voting","Part 20A-3a-1 General Voting Provisions"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title20A/Chapter3a/20A-3a-S106.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"cf7177cffc7d44219381879ec905878228a26ca0c3f986a40dd9c4b0662ab9ec","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-3a-105","next":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-3a-201"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
