{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-5a-201","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 20A-5a-201","heading":"State notice of candidate filing for regular election -- Notice of statewide ballot propositions.","body":"(1) On or before the second Friday after the first Monday in November in an odd-numbered year, the lieutenant governor shall:\n(a) publish for the state, as a class A notice under Section 63G-30-102, for 30 calendar days, the notice described in Subsection (2); and\n(b) transmit the notice described in Subsection (2) to each county clerk.\n(2) The notice required under Subsection (1) shall:\n(a) designate the offices to be filled at the next year's regular general election for:\n(i) a federal office;\n(ii) a statewide constitutional office;\n(iii) state senator;\n(iv) state representative; and\n(v) State Board of Education member;\n(b) identify the dates for filing a declaration of candidacy, and for submitting and certifying nomination petition signatures, as applicable, under Sections 20A-9-403, 20A-9-407, and 20A-9-408 for the offices described in Subsection (2)(a);\n(c) describe the statewide ballot propositions to be decided by the voters that have qualified for the ballot as of that date; and\n(d) designate a webpage that, for each elective office, states the total number of signatures that must be submitted under Subsection 20A-9-403(3)(a)(ii) or 20A-9-408(8), with the necessary calculations made by counting the aggregate number of individuals residing in each elective office's political division who have designated a particular registered political party on the individuals' voter registration forms on or before November 15 of each odd-numbered year.","path":["Title 20A Election Code","Chapter 20A-5a Election Notices","Part 20A-5a-2 Notices For Regular Election Year"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title20A/Chapter5a/20A-5a-S201.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"9acb6d98ee4868d455cb63d2648c75c56a420a96cfdcf3f0a9fd89a89ac8de26","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-5a-102","next":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-5a-202"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
