{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-5a-205","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 20A-5a-205","heading":"Certification of state candidates for regular primary election.","body":"(1) On or before the first Wednesday after the fourth Saturday in April of an even-numbered year, the lieutenant governor shall:\n(a) publish for the state, as a class A notice under Section 63G-30-102, for 30 calendar days, the notice described in Subsection (2); and\n(b)\n(i) transmit to each county clerk the notice described in Subsection (2); or\n(ii) transmit the portion of the notice described in Subsection (2) that relates to a particular county to the county clerk for that county.\n(2) The notice required under Subsection (1):\n(a) shall list the names of all candidates who are qualified for placement on the regular primary election ballot for a county, by office, for the following offices:\n(i) a federal office;\n(ii) a statewide constitutional office;\n(iii) state senator;\n(iv) state representative; and\n(v) State Board of Education member;\n(b) shall, in accordance with Sections 20A-6-109 and 20A-6-110, include instructions on how the names of candidates will appear on the primary election ballot; and\n(c) may not include candidates who are unopposed in the regular primary election.","path":["Title 20A Election Code","Chapter 20A-5a Election Notices","Part 20A-5a-2 Notices For Regular Election Year"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title20A/Chapter5a/20A-5a-S205.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"2db8b13bc874c0a659542e6ef81176c29c90b10b3ad90fb8563dd9b7f8b3c90a","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-5a-204","next":"us-ut/utah-code-20a-5a-206"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
