{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-10-302","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 23A-10-302","heading":"Conveyance or equipment detainment or quarantine.","body":"(1) The division, a port-of-entry agent, a natural resources officer, or a peace officer may detain or quarantine a conveyance or equipment if:\n(a) the division, agent, natural resources officer, or peace officer:\n(i) finds the conveyance or equipment contains an invasive mussel; or\n(ii) reasonably believes that the person transporting the conveyance or equipment is in violation of Section 23A-10-201; or\n(b) the person transporting the conveyance or equipment refuses to submit to an inspection authorized by Section 23A-10-301.\n(2) The detainment or quarantine authorized by Subsection (1) may continue for:\n(a) up to five days; or\n(b) the period of time necessary to:\n(i) decontaminate the conveyance or equipment; and\n(ii) ensure that an invasive mussel is not living on or in the conveyance or equipment.","path":["Title 23A Wildlife Resources Act","Chapter 23A-10 Aquatic Invasive Species Interdiction","Part 23A-10-3 Enforcement"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title23A/Chapter10/23A-10-S302.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"fc9bd697863dbf6573539ad9e3854b9758e917666844a91c8699f52eae3aa330","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-10-301","next":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-10-303"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
