{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-5-204","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 23A-5-204","heading":"Butcher, locker, or storage plant to require proper tag or donation slip -- Taxidermist.","body":"(1) A butcher or owner or employee of a locker plant or storage plant may not receive for processing or storage the carcass of protected wildlife that by law or regulation is required to be tagged, unless there is a transaction record for the carcass which is that the carcass is:\n(a) properly tagged; or\n(b) accompanied with a valid donation slip.\n(2) A taxidermist shall retain the transaction records for wildlife received, to include:\n(a) the date and time the wildlife is received; and\n(b) the license or permit number associated with the wildlife.\n(3) A person required to retain a transaction record under this section shall:\n(a) produce the transaction record on the demand of a peace officer; and\n(b) keep the transaction record for three years from the day on which the person receives or creates the transaction record.","path":["Title 23A Wildlife Resources Act","Chapter 23A-5 Enforcement and Violations","Part 23A-5-2 Enforcement"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title23A/Chapter5/23A-5-S204.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"474d469c93dcd8af4a8cf1989a7c93fc88d006362dc02b8037adc45930515d68","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-5-201","next":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-5-205"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
