{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-5-303","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 23A-5-303","heading":"Importation or exportation and release of wildlife unlawful -- Criminal penalty.","body":"(1) A person may not:\n(a) import into or export from the state a species of live native or exotic wildlife; or\n(b) possess or release from captivity imported live wildlife described in Subsection (1)(a).\n(2) Notwithstanding Subsection (1), a person may engage in an act described in Subsection (1) if:\n(a) provided for in this title or the rules made by the Wildlife Board in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act; and\n(b) the person first secures written permission from the division.\n(3) A person who violates this section is subject to the penalty provided in Section 23A-5-301.","path":["Title 23A Wildlife Resources Act","Chapter 23A-5 Enforcement and Violations","Part 23A-5-3 Violations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title23A/Chapter5/23A-5-S303.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"f9e523534f11e9670f1223f5ebf65c75eb10e53489c25f027785ac589ca09d5a","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-5-302","next":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-5-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
