{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-5-315.5","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 23A-5-315.5","heading":"Unlawful activity by a pilot.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Aircraft\" means an airplane or helicopter.\n(b) \"Pilot\" means an individual who operates the controls of an aircraft while in flight.\n(2) A pilot may not knowingly, intentionally, or recklessly operate an aircraft if the operation results in a person taking, including locating, wildlife from the aircraft in violation of Section 23A-5-315.\n(3) A violation of Subsection (2) is:\n(a) a class B misdemeanor for the first violation;\n(b) a class A misdemeanor for the second violation; or\n(c) a third degree felony for a third or subsequent violation.\n(4) If a pilot violates this section, the division may revoke a license, tag, certificate of registration, or permit held by the pilot in accordance with Section 23A-4-1106.","path":["Title 23A Wildlife Resources Act","Chapter 23A-5 Enforcement and Violations","Part 23A-5-3 Violations"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title23A/Chapter5/23A-5-S315.5.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"6be4415beb227ee9539b0d57beceb1f6ecaaf4c23fc57e7f4716cf5ce823d336","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-5-315","next":"us-ut/utah-code-23a-5-316"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
