{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-2-225","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 26B-2-225","heading":"General acute hospital to report prescribed controlled substance poisoning or overdose.","body":"(1) If a person who is 12 years old or older is admitted to a general acute hospital for poisoning or overdose involving a prescribed controlled substance, the general acute hospital shall, within three business days after the day on which the person is admitted, send a written report to the Division of Professional Licensing, created in Section 58-1-103, that includes:\n(a) the patient's name and date of birth;\n(b) each drug or other substance found in the person's system that may have contributed to the poisoning or overdose, if known;\n(c) the name of each person who the general acute hospital has reason to believe may have prescribed a controlled substance described in Subsection (1)(b) to the person, if known; and\n(d) the name of the hospital and the date of admission.\n(2) Nothing in this section may be construed as creating a new cause of action.","path":["Title 26B Utah Health and Human Services Code","Chapter 26B-2 Licensing and Certifications","Part 26B-2-2 Health Care Facility Licensing and Inspection"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title26B/Chapter2/26B-2-S225.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"88c2fd33ab32cd84595eefce49e0d596d37c797291b6a543df26dbb77855073f","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-2-224","next":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-2-226"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
