{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-3-401","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 26B-3-401","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1)\n(a) \"Nursing care facility\" means:\n(i) a nursing care facility as defined in Section 26B-2-201;\n(ii) a designated swing bed in:\n(A) a general acute hospital as defined in Section 26B-2-201; and\n(B) a critical access hospital which meets the criteria of 42 U.S.C. Sec. 1395i-4(c)(2) (1998); and\n(iii) an intermediate care facility for people with an intellectual disability that is licensed under Section 26B-2-212.\n(b) \"Nursing care facility\" does not include:\n(i) the Utah State Developmental Center;\n(ii) the Utah State Hospital;\n(iii) a general acute hospital, specialty hospital, or small health care facility as those terms are defined in Section 26B-2-201; or\n(iv) a Utah State Veterans Home.\n(2) \"Patient day\" means each calendar day in which an individual patient is admitted to the nursing care facility during a calendar month, even if on a temporary leave of absence from the facility.","path":["Title 26B Utah Health and Human Services Code","Chapter 26B-3 Health Care - Administration and Assistance","Part 26B-3-4 Nursing Care Facility Assessment"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title26B/Chapter3/26B-3-S401.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"766c18e0e78a31c730a77b4161012f4c12731c12cff3fb29ad412b76902c55bd","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-3-313","next":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-3-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
