{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-3-701","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 26B-3-701","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1) \"Accountable care organization\" means a managed care organization, as defined in 42 C.F.R. Sec. 438, that contracts with the department under the provisions of Section 26B-3-202.\n(2) \"Assessment\" means the Medicaid hospital provider assessment established by this part.\n(3) \"Discharges\" means the number of total hospital discharges reported on Worksheet S-3 Part I, column 15, lines 12, 14, and 14.01 of the 2552-96 Medicare Cost Report or on Worksheet S-3 Part I, column 15, lines 14, 16, and 17 of the 2552-10 Medicare Cost Report for the applicable assessment year.\n(4) \"Division\" means the Division of Integrated Healthcare of the department.\n(5) \"Hospital\":\n(a) means a privately owned:\n(i) general acute hospital operating in the state as defined in Section 26B-2-201; and\n(ii) specialty hospital operating in the state, which shall include a privately owned hospital whose inpatient admissions are predominantly:\n(A) rehabilitation;\n(B) psychiatric;\n(C) chemical dependency; or\n(D) long-term acute care services; and\n(b) does not include:\n(i) a human services program, as defined in Section 26B-2-101;\n(ii) a hospital owned by the federal government, including the Veterans Administration Hospital; or\n(iii) a hospital that is owned by the state government, a state agency, or a political subdivision of the state, including:\n(A) a state-owned teaching hospital; and\n(B) the Utah State Hospital.\n(6) \"Medicare Cost Report\" means CMS-2552-96 or CMS-2552-10, the cost report for electronic filing of hospitals.\n(7) \"State plan amendment\" means a change or update to the state Medicaid plan.","path":["Title 26B Utah Health and Human Services Code","Chapter 26B-3 Health Care - Administration and Assistance","Part 26B-3-7 Hospital Provider Assessment"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title26B/Chapter3/26B-3-S701.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"ee85ecd323292a6d6f7e7a17d07ba5a9e599456bb17e56c2064f94dda2e30a2a","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-3-612","next":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-3-702"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
