{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-4-243","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 26B-4-243","heading":"Guidance for treatment with medical cannabis.","body":"The department, in consultation with the Center for Medical Cannabis Research created in Section 53H-4-206, shall:\n(1) develop evidence-based guidance for treatment with medical cannabis based on the latest medical research that shall include:\n(a) for each qualifying condition, a summary of the latest medical research regarding the treatment of the qualifying condition with medical cannabis;\n(b) risks, contraindications, side effects, and adverse reactions that are associated with medical cannabis use; and\n(c) potential drug interactions between medical cannabis and medications that have been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration;\n(2) educate recommending medical providers, pharmacy medical providers, medical cannabis cardholders, and the public regarding:\n(a) the evidence-based guidance for treatment with medical cannabis described in Subsection (1)(a);\n(b) relevant warnings and safety information related to medical cannabis use; and\n(c) other topics related to medical cannabis use as determined by the department; and\n(3) develop patient product information inserts for medical cannabis products:\n(a) in consultation with the cannabis processing facility that created the product; and\n(b) that do not contain proprietary information about the product.","path":["Title 26B Utah Health and Human Services Code","Chapter 26B-4 Health Care - Delivery and Access","Part 26B-4-2 Cannabinoid Research and Medical Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title26B/Chapter4/26B-4-S243.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"5de59a061f6f9fc85f1b1f768d61eeb618ee8c039f41d0d52bde670b16c2a237","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-4-231","next":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-4-244"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
