{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-7-511","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 26B-7-511","heading":"Permit requirements for a retail tobacco specialty business.","body":"(1) A retail tobacco specialty business shall:\n(a) electronically verify proof of age for any individual that enters the premises of the business in accordance with Section 26B-7-521;\n(b) except as provided in Section 76-9-1108, prohibit any individual from entering the business if the individual is under 21 years old; and\n(c) prominently display at the retail tobacco specialty business a sign on the public entrance of the business that communicates:\n(i) the prohibition on the presence of an individual under 21 years old in a retail tobacco specialty business in Section 76-9-1108; and\n(ii) the prohibition on the sale of tobacco products and electronic cigarette products to an individual under 21 years old as described in Sections 76-9-1104, 76-9-1105, 76-9-1108, and 76-9-1116.\n(2) A retail tobacco specialty business may not:\n(a) employ an individual under 21 years old to sell a tobacco product, an electronic cigarette product, or a nicotine product; or\n(b) permit an employee under 21 years old to sell a tobacco product, an electronic cigarette product, or a nicotine product.","path":["Title 26B Utah Health and Human Services Code","Chapter 26B-7 Public Health and Prevention","Part 26B-7-5 Regulation of Smoking, Tobacco Products, and Nicotine Products"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title26B/Chapter7/26B-7-S511.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"34e66b5fe95ef3513b9746ae90ec10d76a27b7b795dfc7f2673639f6e8466599","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-7-510","next":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-7-512"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
