{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-7-512","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 26B-7-512","heading":"Requirements for the sale of tobacco product, electronic cigarette product, or nicotine product.","body":"(1) A tobacco retailer shall:\n(a) provide the customer with an itemized receipt for each sale of a tobacco product, an electronic cigarette product, or a nicotine product that separately identifies:\n(i) the name of the tobacco product, the electronic cigarette product, or the nicotine product;\n(ii) the amount charged for each tobacco product, electronic cigarette product, or nicotine product; and\n(iii) the date and time of the sale; and\n(b) maintain an itemized transaction log for each sale of a tobacco product, an electronic cigarette product, or a nicotine product that separately identifies:\n(i) the name of the tobacco product, the electronic cigarette product, or the nicotine product;\n(ii) the amount charged for each tobacco product, electronic cigarette product, or nicotine product; and\n(iii) the date and time of the sale.\n(2) The itemized transaction log described in Subsection (1)(b) shall be:\n(a) maintained for at least one year after the date of each transaction in the itemized transaction log;\n(b) made available to an enforcing agency or a peace officer at the request of the enforcing agency or the peace officer; and\n(c) in addition to any documentation required under Section 59-1-1406 and Subsection 59-14-805(2).","path":["Title 26B Utah Health and Human Services Code","Chapter 26B-7 Public Health and Prevention","Part 26B-7-5 Regulation of Smoking, Tobacco Products, and Nicotine Products"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title26B/Chapter7/26B-7-S512.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"2b59ef8185ada43ea781b29ec002c74879891600d62e564667819ef8f0861589","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-7-511","next":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-7-513"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
