{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-8-233","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 26B-8-233","heading":"Family outreach specialist.","body":"(1) With funds appropriated by the Legislature for this purpose, the department shall provide compensation, at a standard rate determined by the department, to a family outreach specialist.\n(2) The family outreach specialist shall:\n(a) engage with relatives or the legal guardian of an individual who has recently died by suicide or overdose to better understand the circumstances that precede a suicide or drug-related death, including by:\n(i) contacting next of kin;\n(ii) collecting information in an interview;\n(iii) assessing next of kin; and\n(iv) providing targeted bereavement care; and\n(b) assist the medical examiner with suicide intervention, prevention, and postvention, including:\n(i) mortality surveillance;\n(ii) research coordination;\n(iii) data management and analysis; and\n(iv) epidemiological surveillance.","path":["Title 26B Utah Health and Human Services Code","Chapter 26B-8 Health Data, Vital Statistics, and Utah Medical Examiner","Part 26B-8-2 Utah Medical Examiner"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title26B/Chapter8/26B-8-S233.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"3d1b3dc7386f10d6bacd4168fa1790749ba8ce40cdfc9194733db7257bb58874","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-8-232","next":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-8-301"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
