{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-9-224","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 26B-9-224","heading":"Medical and dental expenses of a child -- Health insurance for a child.","body":"(1) As used in this section, \"health insurance\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 31A-1-301.\n(2) In any action under this part, the office and the department in their orders shall include:\n(a) a provision assigning responsibility for cash medical support;\n(b) a provision requiring the purchase and maintenance of appropriate health insurance for the child, if:\n(i) insurance coverage is or becomes available at a reasonable cost; and\n(ii) the insurance coverage is accessible to the child; and\n(c) a designation of which health insurance plan is primary and which is secondary in accordance with the provisions of Section 81-6-208, which will take effect if at any time the child is covered by both parents' health insurance plans.","path":["Title 26B Utah Health and Human Services Code","Chapter 26B-9 Recovery Services and Administration of Child Support","Part 26B-9-2 Child Support Services"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title26B/Chapter9/26B-9-S224.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"ce044b50cfb28df4b412fda624ca51e5e79256e3c4491c9dcf4cf67c5a59450f","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-9-223","next":"us-ut/utah-code-26b-9-225"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
