{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-29-2-102","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 29-2-102","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this chapter:\n(1) \"Alcoholic beverage\" has the same meaning as provided in Section 32B-1-102.\n(2) \"Controlled substance\" has the same meaning as provided in Section 58-37-101.\n(3) \"Guest\" means a person for whom an innkeeper was paid to provide temporary sleeping accommodations in a lodging establishment.\n(4) \"Innkeeper\" means the proprietor or designated employee of a proprietor of a lodging establishment.\n(5) \"Lodging establishment\" means a place providing temporary sleeping accommodations to the public, including any of the following:\n(a) a bed and breakfast establishment;\n(b) a boarding house;\n(c) a hotel;\n(d) an inn;\n(e) a lodging house;\n(f) a motel;\n(g) a resort; or\n(h) a rooming house.\n(6) \"Minor\" means an unemancipated person younger than 18 years old.","path":["Title 29 Hotels and Hotel Keepers","Chapter 29-2 Innkeeper's Rights Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title29/Chapter2/29-2-S102.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"67dd9493d5f2c5285f8b65bc147e8f89751db6016fdd64ca41b7e127a5835fee","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-29-2-101","next":"us-ut/utah-code-29-2-103"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
