{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-15-207","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 31A-15-207","heading":"Purchasing groups -- Exemption from certain laws.","body":"A purchasing group and its insurers are subject to all applicable laws of this state, except that a purchasing group and its insurers are exempt, in regard to liability insurance for the purchasing group, from any law that would:\n(1) prohibit the establishment of a purchasing group;\n(2) make it unlawful for an insurer to provide, or offer to provide, to a purchasing group or its members insurance on a basis providing advantages based on their loss and expense experience not afforded to other persons with respect to rates, policy forms, coverages, or other matters;\n(3) prohibit a purchasing group or its members from purchasing insurance on a group basis described in Subsection (2);\n(4) prohibit a purchasing group from obtaining insurance on a group basis because the group has not been in existence for a minimum period of time or because any member has not belonged to the group for a minimum period of time;\n(5) require that a purchasing group have a minimum number of members, common ownership or affiliation, or certain legal form;\n(6) require that a certain percentage of a purchasing group obtain insurance on a group basis;\n(7) otherwise discriminate against a purchasing group or any of its members; or\n(8) require that any insurance policy issued to a purchasing group or any of its members be countersigned by an insurance producer residing in this state.","path":["Title 31A Insurance Code","Chapter 31A-15 Unauthorized Insurers, Surplus Lines, and Risk Retention Groups","Part 31A-15-2 Risk Retention Groups Act"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title31A/Chapter15/31A-15-S207.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"d2ef06c2f62fdcc54998d3620e325910416894f01ac841ae18900ee1f0d8107e","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-15-206.5","next":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-15-208"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
