{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-301","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 31A-22-301","heading":"Definitions.","body":"As used in this part:\n(1)\n(a) \"Motor vehicle\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 41-6a-102.\n(b) For purposes of this chapter, \"motor vehicle\" includes a street-legal all-terrain vehicle.\n(2) \"Motor vehicle business\" means a motor vehicle sales agency, repair shop, service station, storage garage, or public parking place.\n(3) \"Motor vehicle liability policy\" means a policy which satisfies the requirements of Sections 31A-22-303 and 31A-22-304.\n(4) \"Motorboat\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 73-18c-102.\n(5) \"Occupying\" means being in or on a motor vehicle as a passenger or operator, or being engaged in the immediate acts of entering, boarding, or alighting from a motor vehicle.\n(6) \"Operator\" means the same as that term is defined in Subsection 41-12a-103(7).\n(7) \"Owner\" means the same as that term is defined in Subsection 41-12a-103(8).\n(8) \"Pedestrian\" means any natural person not occupying a motor vehicle.\n(9) \"Street-legal all-terrain vehicle\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 41-6a-102.","path":["Title 31A Insurance Code","Chapter 31A-22 Contracts in Specific Lines","Part 31A-22-3 Motor Vehicle Insurance"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title31A/Chapter22/31A-22-S301.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"6fde91ef7307d7cc2fcc72a1324a5e94e7b4cfa2232ecbeee70359e425f38895","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-205","next":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
