{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-645","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 31A-22-645","heading":"Alcohol and drug dependency treatment.","body":"(1) An insurer offering a health benefit plan providing coverage for alcohol or drug dependency treatment may require an inpatient facility to be licensed by:\n(a)\n(i) the Department of Health and Human Services, under Title 26B, Chapter 2, Part 1, Human Services Programs and Facilities; or\n(ii) the Department of Health and Human Services; or\n(b) for an inpatient facility located outside the state, a state agency similar to one described in Subsection (1)(a).\n(2) For inpatient coverage provided pursuant to Subsection (1), an insurer may require an inpatient facility to be accredited by the following:\n(a) the Joint Commission; and\n(b) one other nationally recognized accrediting agency.","path":["Title 31A Insurance Code","Chapter 31A-22 Contracts in Specific Lines","Part 31A-22-6 Accident and Health Insurance"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title31A/Chapter22/31A-22-S645.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"086a2d3bb13283227831b8cb2fcf5cd3a6ec643a7fb2431f8d73674849f842dc","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-644","next":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-646"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
