{"data":{"id":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-666","jurisdiction":"us-ut","citation":"Utah Code § 31A-22-666","heading":"Coverage for reversal of sex transition procedures.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Hormonal transgender treatment\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 58-1-603.\n(b) \"Primary sex characteristic surgical procedure\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 58-67-102.\n(c) \"Secondary sex characteristic surgical procedure\" means the same as that term is defined in Section 58-67-102.\n(d) \"Sex transition procedure\" means:\n(i) a primary sex characteristic surgical procedure; or\n(ii) a secondary sex characteristic surgical procedure.\n(2) A health benefit plan that covers hormonal transgender treatments for an individual's sex transition shall also cover any hormonal treatments necessary to reverse an individual's sex transition.\n(3) A health benefit plan that covers a sex transition procedure shall also cover any surgical procedures necessary to reverse an individual's sex transition procedure.\n(4) This section applies to a health benefit plan renewed or entered into on or after January 1, 2027.","path":["Title 31A Insurance Code","Chapter 31A-22 Contracts in Specific Lines","Part 31A-22-6 Accident and Health Insurance"],"source_url":"https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title31A/Chapter22/31A-22-S666.html","current_through":"2026 General Session","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-03T11:34:33Z","sha256":"e4b31671f96421aecf9b5f67ac09f543a9609d098e0ac12dbb86f8c8efaef829","source_id":"us-ut","stale":false,"prev":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-665","next":"us-ut/utah-code-31a-22-667"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
